Bordeaux France
Be prepared to drink lots of wine: beautiful Bordeaux is one of France's seven key wine regions. This beautiful area is one of the country's finest, and is a haven for those who enjoy the laid-back French lifestyle. It is also home to over 60, 000 students who attend the city's university's, if you are looking for excitement, you can be sure there will never be a dull moment.

If you are an avid wine connoisseur or just like the stuff, you are going to have your fill during your stay in Bordeaux. Whether you are enjoying a wine tasting, touring the vineyards and wineries, or shopping for some souvenir bottles. There are also hundreds of restaurants and cafe's scattered throughout the city, where you can sip on a variety of different wines. The area is known worldwide for its flavorful reds, so be sure to include it on your meal plan.

Bordeaux is home to some excellent museums that should not be missed. The Musee d'Aquitaine illustrates Bordeaux's long and colorful history. The Musee des Beaux-Arts has a very good collection of French, Flemish, Italian and Dutch works, mostly from the 17th century. A fantastic collection of contemporary art is housed in the Musee d'Art Contemporain.

The beautiful Cathedrale Saint-Andre was first constructed back in 1096, and is one of the country's oldest and most historic churches.

Bordeaux has a very lively nightlife, mostly due to the huge population of young people in the city. Start your evening by dining in one of the restaurants, and after putting back one or ten glasses of fine wine, you'll be ready to hit up the bars and clubs until the early morning hours!
